The Horseradish Theatre celebrates its second anniversary with Vassa - a powerful play by Maxim Gorky.
We are used to thinking that history was shaped by men. But was a woman’s role truly limited to quietly accepting her fate — or is there more to the story?
Vassa explores the place of a woman at pivotal moments in history: when society splits into “us” and “them,” when the old ways are no longer possible, and the new path is still unclear. In such times, a woman becomes the foundation holding together a rapidly polarizing world.
If she falls, it may signal the end not only of a family — but of an entire era.
Treat yourself to an evening filled with emotion and cultural richness. Don’t miss the chance to become part of the magic of theatre!

“The Arsonists” was the very first production by The HorseRadish Theatre. It is based on the play by Swiss dramatist Max Frisch, written in 1953. The author himself described it paradoxically as a “didactic play without a moral.”
It tells the story of ordinary, peaceful people who go about their daily lives and only occasionally react to troubling news — while reading the paper or having a drink with friends at the bar.
Meanwhile, night after night, another house somewhere in the city goes up in flames. But as long as one remains hospitable and cautious, it will always be someone else’s house…
